MARCH 2017: SEEKING VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR

NCRC plans to hire a part-time Volunteer Coordinator. This is a new position. Our Volunteer Coordinator with work directly under the Director of Programs, and responsibilities will include:

  • Promoting and scheduling all trainings and continuing education events
  • Maintaining personal contact with all volunteers
  • Keeping records of volunteer progress and engagement in our database
  • Closing out case files (data entry) in our Salesforce database
  • Recruiting new volunteers
  • Updating website and social media with volunteer-relevant material
  • Planning and executing volunteer appreciation events

The candidate we are looking for will have:

  • Superior organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong sense of responsibility, effective planning skills, and dedicated follow-through
  • A cheerful, calm, and flexible approach to work, even under stress
  • Excellent public presentation, facilitation, and social media skills
  • Real enjoyment interacting with people and helping them succeed as volunteers
  • Ability to show initiative in exploring new venues and opportunities to recruit volunteers
  • Superb command of standard American English: speaking, reading, writing
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to quickly learn other software programs
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance; use of personal vehicle will be required at times

Physical requirements:

  • Must be able to lift boxes, set up rooms for training, and assemble tents and tables for events

Work Schedule: 20 hours per week, primarily during normal weekday business hours (between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm Monday through Friday) with some evenings and weekends required.

Pay Rate: $17 per hour. No medical benefits are available.
