MISSION

NCRC works to provide access to justice for all Tennesseans. Through a restorative approach of mediation, we help people resolve legal crises quickly, safely, and effectively outside of a courtroom.

VISION

We envision a future in which all low-income and workforce families in Tennessee have access to free or sliding-scale mediation.

OUR STORY

23 Years Helping Neighbors Resolve Conflict

In 2000, members of the Nashville Bar Association recognized the need to provide people with efficient, cheap, and stress-free access to justice. Nashville Conflict Resolution Center was founded with the sole purpose of helping the residents of Davidson County who could not afford attorneys settle their case outside of a courtroom.


For the last 23 years, NCRC has provided low-income Middle Tennesseans with free mediation, a service built around the cornerstones of inclusion, respect, and empathy. While we remain committed to Davidson County, remote mediation has eliminated geographic barriers to access—in 2022, we accepted referrals from courts in 14 different counties.


Mediation is the most equitable and inclusive tool available in our justice system. It is designed to ensure that all voices are heard and that every one of our participants can stay in control of their own outcome, creating realistic and sustainable solutions quickly and cost-effectively.
